– Joseph W.
Beach, CPA, has assumed the position of Managing Director
of Asher & Company, Ltd. He succeeds Stephen J. Carr,
CPA, who has served as Managing Director since 1996 and
will become Chairman of the Firm and continue serving
clients as a Director in the Tax Department.

As
managing director, Beach will be responsible for the
overall management of the firm.
He will continue to serve companies who are
SEC
registrants and other privately-owned technology-based
companies, which are his primary areas of expertise.
Carr
affirmed Beach as a good choice as his successor, “Joe
is dedicated to exceptional client service, so I am
confident that our clients will continue to value their
relationship with Asher & Company, Ltd.”
Beach
began his career with Asher & Company, Ltd. and worked
for a Big 4 accounting firm and several public companies
before returning to Asher in 2003.
He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of
Seton
Hall
University
and is active with the American and Pennsylvania
Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and the New
Jersey Technology Council.

James
Doyle
is now Director
in the Accounting and Auditing Services department. |
James
M. Doyle, CPA, joined the firm in 1993 after several years
in the real estate industry. He has worked with a diverse
group of clientele, including not-for-profit agencies,
closely-held and family businesses in industries such as
real estate and construction, manufacturing, retail, and
service organizations such as law firms, marketing
research, and health care providers.
Steve
Carr added his perspective, “Nobody endears themselves
to clients as much as Jim. Throughout his entire career
Jim has achieved the highest standards possible, and his
promotion to Director reflects the professionalism that
everyone at Asher & Company, Ltd. strives to
achieve.”
Doyle
directs, plans and performs audits, compilations, reviews,
and forecasts, reviews and redesigns auditing procedures
to increase efficiency, and formulates full disclosure
financial statements.
In addition, he has prepared corporate, partnership
and individual tax returns, and advised and assisted
clients with start-up operations, reorganizations, mergers
and acquisitions.
Along
with his accounting responsibilities, Doyle continues to
design, develop and deliver seminars on pertinent,
financial topics, policies, procedures and technology, in
conjunction with the firm’s Continuing Professional
Education program. He is a graduate of
Widener
University
, with a B.S. in
accounting.

Pilacik, is
the Chair of Asher's
Not-for-profit Services
Group. |
Elizabeth
F. Pilacik, CPA, a Senior Manager, has been a key member of
Asher’s Not-for-profit Services Group since joining the
firm in 1996. Pilacik
succeeds Rachel Winslow, who became the group’s Chair in
1997. Winslow is retiring from her full-time position with
Asher, & Company, Ltd., but will continue providing
consulting services.
While
Pilacik’s diverse client base includes closely-held
business, real-estate entities and international clients,
her primary professional focus has been not-for-profit
organizations. She
works with clients on accounting for endowments,
contributions and government funding, evaluates internal
control procedures, identifies potential accounting and
operational issues, and proposes sound recommendations for
system improvements. Her
clients are funded by contributions, class registration and
other fees, foundation grants and endowment contributions,
as well as federal, state and local government grants.
Pilacik
is part of the team which provides in-house training on
not-for-profit topics. She
authored our materials on OMB A-133 audits. She was also a
presenter at the firm’s seminars on Mental Health/Mental
Retardation fiscal regulations and on the responsibilities
for not-for-profit audit committees.
Pilacik
serves on the Board of Directors of The MBF Center. She is a
graduate of
St. Joseph
’s University and an
Accredited Fellow of the American Institute of
Certified
Public
Accountants
Academy
for Exempt Organizations.
