The
playoff caliber Asher softball team returned to the diamond
on Thursday evening in winning fashion.
The 15-9 victory over PWC was led by rookie
contributors, Eric Curran, Steve Kovack and Mark Kissinger.
Defensive standout Chris Ness spent the evening
snaring line drives, tagging out baserunners and turning
double plays. A
bad hop ground ball to the nose did not slow him down.
The
entire roster participated in the run bonanza with shrewd
baserunning and key two-out hits.
Aardvarks
team management constantly seeks to identify new talent.
Finding the Greater Philadelphia area talent pool too
shallow, management sought to improve the roster by scouting
the cricket matches of
South
Asia
.
The investment paid off in spades when former cricket
bowler, Avi "lights-out" Das, pitched a complete
game, shutting out the PWC bombers in five of the innings.
Interviewed afterwards, Das indicated that it's fun
to win, but "would someone please tell me what a foul
ball is?"
