13th Annual Asher Open - March 2009
On March 20th, Asher and Company, Ltd. celebrated its 13th Annual Golf Open at our new offices located at Ten Penn Center.
Creativity Comes Into Play
This year's Asher Open Design-A-Hole Contest saw many creative and unique entries. We had Among all of the golf holes, there were three tribute golf holes focused on Guitar Hero, March Madness and the Economic Stimulus Package. A couple other design themes consisted of a Fiesta and an Auto Body Shop. Our Information Technology department designed a hole with various pieces of computer equipment.
This Year's Benefactor
This year's defending champion, Tim Dirkes, designated the American Diabetes Association as this year's benefactor. Founded in 1940, the American Diabetes Association’s mission has been to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by this disease. The Association has worked hard to fulfill its mission by funding scientific research, delivering services to hundreds of communities, providing objective and credible information, and giving a voice to those denied their rights because of this disease. We were proud to support such a great cause.
The Grand Total
With the support and participation of Asher clients, vendors, alumni and friends for a second consecutive year, the Asher Open raised approximately $1,500.
Closing Ceremony and Party
The day concluded with a catered staff party during which the day's top golfers and Design-A-Hole Contest winners were recognized.
This year's top golfer was James Mantell. As this year's winner, James will be in charge of selecting next year's Asher Open benefactor.
The Design-A-Hole Winners, Jen Silvan and Wendy Riso, were responsible for the design of the Fiesta hole.
