Lessons Learned from April 15: How to Look Forward to Paying Next Years
Taxes
Of course, nobody looks
forward to paying taxes, but some basic knowledge and proper planning can help minimize
the pain on April 15th. This session will let
business owners understand the difference and tax impact between cash and accrual
accounting, determine which business taxes they need to pay (Federal, state, local,
Business Privilege Tax, and Net Profit Tax), how entity choices affect taxes, and discuss
payroll tax issues including W-2s and 1099s. Well
also provide tips to minimize your overall tax obligation, including use of Section 179,
inventory control, and more.
Speaker: Susanne Spinell Shuster, CPA, MST. Susanne is the chair of the Professional Services
Group and the manager of the Asher Enterprise Group, which serves emerging and mid-sized
businesses. She provides comprehensive tax,
accounting, and consulting services to a diverse group of health care providers,
professional service corporations and closely held businesses, real estate groups,
manufacturers and distributors, and individuals. In
addition, she has served as an adjunct professor at Temple Universitys Fox School of
Business and Management MBA program for over ten years.
